Spring Is a Season for Fresh Energy and New Growth
Spring brings a different kind of energy.

The days get longer, the weather warms up, and everything around us starts to grow. It can feel like a fresh start and young people can feel that shift too.
At H.Y.P.E. of Lucas, we believe spring is a great time for young people to reset, build healthy habits, and focus on growing stronger in mind, body, and confidence.
Check In With Yourself
Spring is a good time to pause and ask: How am I really doing right now?
Some young people feel more energized this time of year. Others may still be shaking off the winter season. Both are normal.
Taking a moment to check in with your feelings is a strong and healthy habit. And if something feels hard, talking with a trusted adult, parent, mentor, or counselor can help.
Move Your Body
Getting active can help improve mood, focus, and energy.
That might look like:
- riding your bike
- playing basketball or soccer
- taking a walk
- dancing to your favorite music
- spending time at the park
It doesn't have to be complicated. Even a little movement can make a big difference.
Try Something New
Spring is also a great time to step into something new.
That could mean:
- joining an activity
- trying a new hobby
- writing or journaling
- learning a skill
- meeting new people
Growth does not require perfection. It starts with being willing to begin.
Take a Break From Screens
Phones and social media are a big part of life, but taking a short break from screens can help your mind reset.
Try setting aside a little time to go outside, be creative, or talk with someone face to face. Small breaks can help you recharge and reconnect.
Keep Talking
One of the strongest things young people can do is talk about what they're feeling.
That includes the good moments and the hard ones. Feeling supported matters.
We work with young people and their families throughout Lucas County, helping build confidence, resilience, and practical life skills.
A Fresh Start for the Season
Spring reminds us that growth takes time.
Small steps — checking in with yourself, moving your body, trying something new, and talking with supportive people — can help young people move forward with strength and confidence. Because when young people grow stronger, our community grows stronger too. 🌱
